Deggy In The Media

Vivienne Westwood Mural

I think something like this has always needed to happen in Glossop. I felt strongly about giving something back to the community, and truly believe this mural could help bring more foot traffic to the town and bring attention to the talented art community in the area whilst paying homage to Westwood in the town she grew up in.

Dame Vivenne Westwood sadly passed away in December 2022, BBC News invited me to say some words on North West Tonight alongside an interview with BBC East Midlands. Both are linked below

The Privileged & The Poor

The Privileged and the Poor 1

In November 2020 i created "The Privileged And The Poor" in retaliation to my local M.P Robert Largan who openly voted against extending the free school meals program. I was appalled at this decision so i decided take a stand in my own way and raise money for the local foodbank.

The community really came together in this fundraiser and we managed to raise £1,200 for Glossopdale foodbank and thankfully we were able to give the
proceeds to them a few weeks before Christmas.

An Unfortunate Reality

An Unfortunate Reality

The England National Football Team have made our nation proud over Euro 2020, The fact we got to the finals of a major tournament since 1966 is something the whole country should have been proud of. I wake up on Monday 12th July 2021 disgusted to find an array of horrific racial abuse from So Called "Fans" is being thrown at Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho & Bukayo Saka there for i had to do something about it.

"As an artist you have the freedom to create a message from a blank canvas but very few create a statement" - Deggy

Marcus is a true inspiration for all. I have so much admiration and respect for him. if i could do a small amount of what he has done to help people i would die a happy man. The fact these three young lads have been abused in such a way makes me sick.

An Unfortunate Reality 3

"This is my way of making a point and showing solidarity with my fellow man, This is a statement against racism, This needs to STOP." - Deggy
